Shahid Law Firm Advises on Major Aircraft Financing Transaction

Shahid Law Firm’s Aviation Team recently represented a US-based lender in its financing of the acquisition of seven (7) Airbus 320 aircrafts from one of Egypt’s leading airlines. The mandate included providing detailed advice on aircraft and other commercial liens and securities under Egyptian law, counseling on the interpretation and implementation of a number of aviation-specific regulations and international aviation treaties to which Egypt is a party, as well as coordinating with US counsel on the registration of transactions and liens in the US and on the International Registry of Mobile Assets under the Protocol to the Cape Town Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment on matters specific to aircraft equipment.
