  • Representing a Saudi subcontractor in a Saudi-seated ICC arbitration case, governed by Saudi law, against a contractor over claims related to a Saudi ARAMCO project.
  • Representing a South Korean construction company in a landmark Egyptian court case governed by Egyptian and French laws enforcing an interim ICC tribunal order in a USD 72 million dispute over a failed Port development project.
  • Representing a Canadian oil & gas company in a multi-million USD CRCICA arbitration case over damages from a wellbore blowout.
  • Representing an Emirati real estate company in a multi-million USD ICC arbitration case over construction disputes related to major real estate projects in Egypt.

Commercial & Shareholder Disputes

  • Representing a minority shareholder in a multi-million USD ICC arbitration case over alleged breaches of a shareholders’ and capital increase agreement.
  • Handled an arbitration case before DIAC, seated in the UAE and governed by UAE law, against a UAE developer over a failed residential project, successfully securing a favorable award to the unit buyer. Shahid Law is currently in the process of enforcing the award before the Dubai Courts against the real estate developer and is taking several measures to prevent asset dissipation.
  • Representing a Saudi investor in two multi-million USD CRCICA arbitration cases against a major Egyptian financial services conglomerate over cross-border transactions.
  • Represented UAE and Lebanese media companies in multi-million USD international arbitration cases against an Egyptian TV production company, securing the extension of arbitration clauses to non-signatories due to civil fraud.
  • Representing a leading German automotive group against a multi-million USD claim by its former distributor, dismissing the case for lack of jurisdiction.

Investment Disputes

  • Representing Heidelberg Cement Group as co-counsel in a multi-million USD ICSID arbitration case against Egypt, citing unfair competition and market distortion based on Egypt-Germany BIT, Egypt-France BIT, Egypt-Italy BIT and Egypt-Morocco BIT.
  • Representing Tantalum International Ltd and Emerge Gaming Ltd. in an ICSID arbitration case against Egypt over measures impacting Australian mining investments.
  • Representing a Malaysian Oil & Gas multinational in a multi-billion USD ICSID investment treaty claim against a Sub-Saharan country over petroleum sector restrictions.
  • Represented Qatar Airways in multi-billion USD treaty claims before PCA and the Arab Investment Court against Egypt regarding the air blockade under multiple treaties.
  • Acted as co-counsel for a major downstream Oil and Gas Company in a complex multi- billion-dollar major international oil and gas dispute against the Arab Republic of Egypt and various State entities, known as the “Peace Pipeline Cases”, before ICSID, ICC, CRCICA, UNCITRAL and PCA.
