Karim has been a member of Shahid Law Firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution teams since December 2015.

Karim represents clients in a variety disputes notably intellectual property disputes, commercial disputes, civil and administrative contracts, licensing and pharmaceuticals. He typically gets involved in all stages of court disputes such as filing a legal claim, drafting defense memos, objections, grievances, attending court hearings and oral pleading.

Furthermore, Karim represents clients in stages of enforcement of court judgments and arbitral awards including obtaining exequaturs, drafting and delivering court notices, executing precautionary attachments and executive seizures.

During his involvement in these stages, Karim has cultivated contacts with several court personals involved in enforcement procedures such as court bailiffs, enforcement judges and law enforcement officials.

In addition to his court experience, Karim is also experienced in legal research, drafting of court memorandums, legal requests, legal opinions, court notices, and review of commercial contracts.

Karim received an LL.B. Cairo University.

Dispute Resolution Experience

• Represented two major regional media companies in a multi-million-dollar multi-party dispute involving litigation and arbitration under UAE law concerning breaches of a number of licensing and broadcasting agreements, He also represented them during enforcement procedures (CRCICA Case No. 1012/2014).
• Acted for different pharmaceutical companies and international manufacturers in various wrongful termination claim before Egyptian Labor Courts.
• Acted for a major regional media company in a multi-million-dollar bankruptcy claim against a key media company in the Egyptian broadcasting market.
• Representing a major Korean industrial and construction company in the context of enforcement of a multi-million-dollar ICC arbitration award against a port development company. He is also representing the company in the claim for nullification of the award.
• Conducted a number of administrative investigations for administration and staff for a number of industries corporations.
